AMERICAN FAIRIES
We Americans like to think of ourselves as more "modern"
and past all the superstitious influences of our Ancestors.
There was a time in the 1950's and 1960's that we even
convinced ourselves of that. We were scientific and logical,
we had a mission. We were going to the moon, Forget about
watching the man in the moon, he simply didn't exist!
Amazingly, as the years pass, turns out we do have
fairies, just like every other country around the world.
And possibly we have even more fairies than anywhere
else, because, after all, we are the melting pot of the
world so we have new citizens arriving, who bring new
fairies with them every day

Well, like everywhere else, outside influences gradually
meld into our own, shared experiences, traditions and
beliefs. We are lucky because America is home to a rich
potpourri of enchanting fairies that have immigrated to our
country to keep company with us.
Here is the partial list of American fairies:

DISNEY FAIRIES: Walt Disney has been enchanting
American children for over seventy years. |
|
TOOTH FAIRY:
It is common practice for young children in the U. S. to
save their "baby teeth" to put under their pillow that
night for the Tooth Fairy. |
Down by the
spring one morning
Where the shadows still lay deep
I found in the heart of a flower
A tiny fairy asleep.
Her flower couch was perfumed,
Leaf curtains drawn with care,
And there she sweetly slumbered,
With a jewel in her hair.
