BOUCICAUT MASTER

Artist: Boucicaut Master - Illuminated manuscript.
Collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles
All Saints - 1415

- Boucicaut Master was an anonymous French or Flemish miniaturist and illuminator.
- He was active between 1400 and 1430 in Paris and worked in the International Gothic style.
- He appears to have supervised a talented team of artists who produced manuscripts commissioned by the king of France, high-ranking aristocrats, and the wealthy bourgeoisie.

He is named after his illustrated book of hours for Jean II Le Meingre Boucicaut, Marshal of France, created between 1410 and 1415, now in the Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris. (Wikipedia)

Knights Templar Burned in the Presence of Philip the Fair  2

Light, seeking light, doth light of light beguile;
So ere you find where light in darkness lies,
Your light grows dark by losing of your eyes..
