HOLY ANOINTING OIL
Exodus 30; 22-30 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take the
following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half
as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250
shekels of fragrant cane, 500 shekels of cassia – all
according to the sanctuary shekel – and a hin of olive
oil. Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant
blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred
anointing oil. . . . Converted into today’s measurements:
- liquid myrrh 500 shekels 5.75 kg (12.68 lbs)

In the traditional method, the ingredients were mixed with
water and then boiled until the water evaporated. The oil
was strained before it was ready for use.
Jesus Christ recognized the medicinal benefits of
cannabis and is said to have used it to perform healing
miracles (such as curing eye and skin diseases referred to
in the Gospels).
