ART - LUINI - ADORATION OF THE MAGI - PAGE 1

The Three Magi

Bernardino Luini: (1520-25) via Wikimedia Commons.

- The Bible story about the Three Wise Men occurred at the time of Jesus Christ's birth.
- They were also called the Three Kings and the Three Magi and they were distinquished visitors who came to see infant Jesus bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
- Luini painted horses, not camels.

Herds of camels will cover your land, young camels of Midian and Ephah. And all from Sheba will come, bearing gold and incense and proclaiming the praise of the LORD. (Isaiah 60:6)

Gifts

- Gold speaks of royalty, incense speaks of divinity, and myrrh speaks of death.
- Gold is a gift fit for a king, frankincense is used in temple worship, and myrrh is used by the High Priest as an annointing oil (and to prepare bodies for burial).
- Reminiscent of the visit of the Queen of Sheba to Solomon, who, like Jesus, was a son of David and her gifts of gold, spices, and precious stones.

They were probably members of a priestly caste in ancient Persia, possibly followers of Zoroaster. (sermonwriter.com)

From the East

- In the Gospel of Matthew, the only reference to them in the Bible, it's announced that 'they came from the east.'

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem. (Matthew 2:1)

Three Magi

- The wise men from Arabia came to Bethlehem and worshiped the child.
- The Magi have been linked to diaspora in southern Arabia and Gentile wise men in Mesopotamia who became Jews by religion because of Biblical Prophet Daniel.

Matthew 2:1-12 While scholars are divided on what the Star of Bethlehem actually was, it guided the magi from the East to find the Messiah, and stood as a testimony in the sky that a new King had been born. (journeyhomeschoolacademy.com)

Ethiopian king

- Others claim they were Ethiopian kings who traveled from different parts of ancient Ethiopia to present the gifts to the Christ child to fulfill the prophecy of their sages who were awaiting his birth.

Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him. (Matthew 2:2)

Sunrise in the East

- Symbolically, the rising of the sun in the east suggests the imagery of light, which is often associated with salvation in the Bible.

Rich people usually possess gold, and gold was mined in Arabia. But more specifically, frankincense and myrrh are harvested from trees that only grow in southern Arabia [Yemen = Sheba]. Wealthy dwellers of those desert regions would naturally have gold, frankincense and myrrh. (Bailey, K. E. (2008). Jesus through Middle Eastern Eye)

Astrologers in the East

- The Magi social status is usually listed as astronomers, astrologers, philosophers and kings.
- They were known for their knowledge of the occult arts such as interpretation of dreams, fortune telling, and magic.
- It was a commonly known in antiquity that the birth or death of great men was accompanied by heavenly signs.

There had spread over all the Orient an old and established belief, that it was fated at that time for men coming from Judea to rule the world. (Seutonius, Roman historian)

Magi journey

- The three gifts were the same gifts that the queen of Sheba (Ethiopia and Yemen) brought to King Solomon a few centuries before when she returned and introduced Jewish religion in Ethiopia.

In the 1920s a British scholar, E. F. F. Bishop, visited a Bedouin tribe in Jordan. This Muslim tribe bore the Arabic name al-Kokabani. The word kokab means “planet” and al-Kaokabani means “Those who study/follow the planets.” Bishop asked the elders of the tribe why they called themselves by such a name. They replied that it was because their ancestors followed the planets and traveled west to Palestine to show honor to the great prophet Jesus when he was born. (Bailey, K. E. (1957))

Heads wagging

- In Eastern Christianity, especially the Syriac churches, the Magi often number twelve, but in Western Christianity, they always number three.
- However many there were, they came with a large contingent.
- After Jesus was born in Bethlehem, King Herod I, a Roman Jewish client king of the Herodian Kingdom of Judea, heard about the birth and was frightened as well as was all of Jerusalem.
- Although, except for Herod, there doesn't seem to be much evidence that the Jews cared at all about Christ's birth.

King Herod I and his ermine

- Jesus was born before the death of Herod, which is dated approximately 4 BC, although the exact date of Jesus’ birth is unknown.

At that time the Jewish people were often despised and dishonored because of their unique customs and beliefs, and also often because of their success and prosperity. They were often thought of as a low, troublesome, and conquered race. (enduringword.com)

Herod jealous

- Herod was in some ways great as a ruler, builder and administrator; in other ways great in politics but he was very cruel.
- He was constantly on guard against threats to his rule, especially from his own family.
- Herod was very jealous and assassinated many family members whom he suspected of disloyalty.

Matthew 5:45 Jesus says it is God who makes the sun to rise and set on both the good and the evil people of the world, therefore we ought to treat our own enemies with kindness. (journeyhomeschoolacademy.com)

Chief priests and scribes

- King Herod called together all the chief priests and scribes of his people, and he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born.
- Herod changed his High Priest often because it was largely a political appointment.
- The Magi came to Jerusalem asking directions to Jesus, but not from Herod.
- They received their first clue from nature, the star, but they needed to understand scripture to inform them more fully and where else to find this knowledge but in the center of Jewish worship, Jerusalem.
- They were wise enough to not have too much pride to ask for directions.

Scribes

- Herod's scribes were experts in the Old Testament and in its oral tradition, however, not so much at copying the Old Testament or translating manuscripts.
- And despite the fact they knew the Bible scriptures and the Magi sought them out because of that, they still missed the coming of their great Messiah.
- The scribes and priests were Herod's wise men and were members of the Sanhedrin who ruled over the Jewish religious realm.
- Matthew describes these same wise men, who he calls 'all Jerusalem,' as the people who served as Jesus' opponents throughout his lifetime.
- The scribes were experts in Jewish law and were frequently in conflict with Jesus.

In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written: “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel. (Matthew 2:3-6)

Herod interferes

- The Magi called Jesus as the 'king of the Jews' and Herod quickly associated that with the Messiah.
- Then Herod called on the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared to them.
- Herod was half-Jewish and needed help from Jewish scholars to understand the intricacies of the faith.
- He sent the Magi to Bethlehem of Judea and said, "Go and search carefully for the child."
- Herod secretly involved the Magi in his search because he knew it would not draw the attention that sending some of his troops would.
- They were instructed to report back to Herod as soon as they found Jesus, so that he could go and worship the child.

The sincerity of the magi’s worship of Jesus is contrasted with Herod’s insincere pledge to worship Jesus. In reality, King Herod will try to eliminate this newborn, rival “king of the Jews,” who threatens to usurp his title! (Stephen Hultgren)

Star search

- After they met with the king, the Magi went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them, until it stopped over the place where the child was.
- When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.
- It was a long journey and they arrived in Bethlehem several months later.

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, those coming forth is from of old, from ancient days. (Micah 5:2)

Jerusalem tower

- There is some question why the Magi went to Jerusalem and didn't find their way directly to Bethlehem.
- They may have thought the leaders in Jerusalem had the answers and would direct there where to find Jesus but they didn't find much interest there.
- Matthew writes that the prophets foretold Jesus' birth in Bethlehem, and that the Jewish religious establishment understood what was happening, but did nothing about it.

Chief priest on life support

- The chief priests at Jerusalem could tell the Magi where Christ was born, but they never went to worship him; they were indifferent altogether to him and to his birth.
- If the Magi had talked to the shepherds they would have received better information than what the scribes provided.
- The chief priests and the scribes were indifferent toward Jesus, all the while retaining their religious 'respectability.'

It has been truly remarked that the shepherds did not miss their way; they came to Christ at once, while the wise men, even with a star to guide them, yet missed their way, and went to Jerusalem instead of to Bethlehem, and enquired at the palace of Herod, instead of at the stable where the Christ was born. (Spurgeon)

Star shining

- After the Magi left for Jerusalem, the star, which they had been following for months reappeared.
- The star had literally come to a rest while they were in Jerusalem, and then moved to guide the Magi when they resumed their trip.
- Until it came and stood over the house where the young child was, indicating it was definitely a supernatural star.
- There was reference to the star 'stood over the head of the child' and this was represented by a halo in ancient art.
- It's very possible the star was only visible to the Magi, because otherwise, Herod's men would be able to track it.

We believe it to have been a luminous appearance in mid-air; probably akin to that which led the children of Israel through the wilderness, which was a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Whether it was seen in the daylight or not we cannot tell. (Spurgeon)

Star

- The wise men sought out Jesus and worshiped Him, even at great cost.
- They were not satisfied with looking at the star and admiring it; they did something about it, and set out and followed the star.
- Meanwhile, the Jewish chief priests and scribes, who knew the scriptures, did nothing to seek out the Messiah, who they determined to be only five miles (eight km) away in Bethlehem.
- YHWHs people ignored the Messiah, while pagans eagerly sought him.
- The Jewish people who should have been joyful, were instead afraid to receive Jesus, and the people who should have cared the least, were filled with the most joy.

Royal dynasty

- Bethlehem was the ancestral home of David, the great king of Israel and founder of their royal dynasty.
- It was a small town, a lowly place and appropriate for Jesus' humble birth although the citizens were quite proud of King David.
- In past days it was called Ephrath or Ephratah and was located six miles to the south of Jerusalem.
- King David also had a humble beginning and he served as a shepherd, which was a lowly occupation.

House not a stable

- On coming to the house where Jesus was born, they saw the young child with his mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped him.
- It may have been a manger connected to a house, or possibly the family took up residence in the house after Jesus' birth but that is where the Magi found him.
- More than likely, Jesus was at least 6-18 months old by this time, which is why he was not referred to as 'infant.'

Every knee (shall) bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue (shall) confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)

Resting Mary

- Additionally, the fact that the child was mentioned before the mother is also significant and not traditional.
- When the Magi departed from Bethlehem, they avoided Herod and Jerusalem.
- Jesus was the complete opposite of Herod, kind instead of cruel, born in a humble stable while Herod was born in a palace, modest citizen as opposed to Herod who possessed great power.

Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route. (Matthew 2:9-12)

Joseph

- Joseph busied himself and was rarely present because he didn't want to take credit as Jesus' father.

Christ child

- After Herod was fooled by the Magi, he resolved to kill all the male children in Bethlehem and surrounding area who were age 2 years and younger.
- This suggests that Jesus may have been as old as age 2 by this time.
- Jesus came to Earth to save them and the Jews response was to destroy him.
- It is possible that Matthew is implicating the Jewish people as being in opposition to Jesus and linking them with Herod very early in his life.
- They later shared in the guilt of the crucifixion.

When Jesus was born, there came wise men from the east,’ and so on. There is infinite power even in an infant Savior. (Spurgeon)

Slaughter of the innocents

- This was called the slaughter of the innocents, however, there doesn't seem to be much documentation that actually proves it happened.
- Judea had a small population so it's widely thought that if Herod murdered a small number of infants, it would not be significant enough to be reported.
- The treachery that Jesus endured throughout his life began in his infancy, as does the hypocrisy of his enemies.

A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more. (Jeremiah 31:15)

Purification waters

- Mary and Joseph remained in the vicinity of Bethlehem and Jerusalem until Jesus had been circumcised and presented in the temple.
- This was to satisfy that were required by the Law of Moses and Jews, not by the Most High.
- Sacrifices of doves and pigeons were made.
- This was because YHWH owned the first born son and the first fruits if anyone worshiped his 10 commandments.

When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”), and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons. (Luke 2:22-24)

Χριστός is Christ in Greek

- A prophet named Simeon had been waiting for the consolation of Israel.
- It was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would live long enough to see the Lord's Messiah.
- Moved by the spirit and dreaming of Christ's birth he came to see Joseph and Mary in the temple that day and held the infant.
- Simeon gave much praise and revealed that the infant would be a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of the people of Israel.

The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him. Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too. (Luke 2:33-35)

Egypt Bull Mountain

- An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him."
- There were about a million Jews in Egypt living in a Roman conclave and it was outside Herod's jurisdiction.
- When Joseph arose, he took the young Child and His mother that same night and departed for Egypt, and they were there until the death of Herod in 4 BC.

Leaving at night

- They later returned to Israel when another angel appeared to Joseph in a dream although no one really knows how long they stayed in Egypt, some say 6 or 7 years.
- Hosea's prophecy was fulfilled because Matthew mades it clear that even as Israel as a nation came out from Egypt, so would the Son of God.

He stayed there until Herod’s death, so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled: Out of Egypt I called my Son. (Matthew 2:15)

Judea

- But when Joseph heard that Archelaus, Herod's son, was reigning over Judea, he was afraid to go there.
- He took his family to the region of Galilee which was ruled by Herod's much gentler brother, Herod Antipas, although he was pretty bad himself and implicated in the death of John the Baptist.
- Although Galilee had a much more significant Gentile population.

This son of Herod proved to be such an incompetent and violent ruler, that at the plea of the Jews of Judea, the Romans deposed him for misrule and replaced him with a governor appointed by Rome in AD 6. (enduringword.com)

Nazareth bad reputation

- It was remarkable that the Most High directed Joseph to Galilee because Nazareth was where everyone knew Mary and Joseph and the strange circumstances surrounding the birth of their son.
- There was much gossip.
- Nazareth was an unwalled, unprotected town with a somewhat bad reputation but the Most High wanted Jesus raised there because there were so many non-believers that needed influence.

”Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. (John 1:46)

Mary's hometown

- Once there, they dwelt in a city called Nazareth, Mary's hometown, which fulfilled what was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”
- At some time, Joseph disappeared from the scene and Jesus became the 'man of the family.'

I am Jesus of Nazareth. (Acts 22:8)

Usurper and tyrant

- Many of the Jews didn't trust Herod, an Edomite, and considered him a usurper.
- Rome recognized him as a vassal king over Judea.
- Herod inflicted heavy taxes on the population and the Jews tolerated him because of magnificant improvements to their second temple.

The fact that all Jerusalem was troubled with Herod is significant. This was due either to the fact that the people of Jerusalem rightly feared what sort of paranoid outburst might come from Herod upon hearing of a rival king being born, or because of the size and dignity of this caravan from the East. (enduringword.com)

Herod burning

- When Herod first came to power, he began by annihilating the Sanhedrin.
- He slaughtered three hundred court officers, murdered his wife Mariamne, and her mother Alexandra, his eldest son Antipater, and two other sons, Alexander and Aristobulus.

In his last years, suffering an illness that compounded his paranoia, he turned to cruelty and in fits of rage and jealousy killed close associates. (Carson)

Dead bodies in the yard

- Many wonder why Herod was so bothered by an infant, although Herod murdered any potential rivals to his throne including his own wife and sons.
- His paranoia may have been fed by feelings of illegitimacy.
- Many people in high positions wonder when their legitimacy will be questioned and their power stripped from them.
- Herod was of Arab descent serving Rome in a Jewish state that disliked him.

The Jews, who want a king of their own, resent Herod. Given half a chance, they would overthrow him. Even though Herod is not a Godly man, he would worry about a God-ordained king born to take his place. (sermonwriter.com)

Herod's door

- Jerusalem had two groups of voters, the smaller group was the power elite who feared losing power if Herod was removed.
- This included some religious leaders.
- The second, larger group, were the general population who feared what a paranoid, irrational, Herod would do.

Try as he might, Herod cannot derail God’s plan for the salvation of the world. The Herods of this world are no match for God—or God’s people. God enlightens these wise men with regard to Herod’s intentions, so they avoid Herod on the way home. (sermonwriter.com)

Go out from Galilee

- Biblical Isaiah’s vision of salvation included a pilgrimage of the nations, who 'will come; to Israel’s light, to worship the God of Israel.'
- The Gentile Magi are understood as enacting the fulfillment of this prophecy.
- Matthew’s gospel ends with the risen Jesus’ command to the disciples to go out from Galilee to make disciples of all nations.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. (Isaiah 60:1-3)

Nations

- The prophecy that the Christ child, the Messiah, was coming to Earth was known by the ancient Jews and that he was 'king of the Jews.'
- It appears that Herod turned the people against the forewarning and then they forgot about the message, or turned it around in their minds.
- There is belief that Herod called Christ, king of the Jews, in anticipation of charges he would file against him in his future crucifixion, clearly he was a major threat to Herod.

Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip. Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. (Isaiah 60:4-5)

Moses Law

Black swan massk

- There are many important parallels between the stories of Moses and Jesus.
- Pharaoh ordered that all Hebrew baby boys should be killed, just as Herod did.
- Moses was saved by the intervention of Pharaoh’s daughter, and Jesus was saved by a dream warning Joseph and Mary to flee.

When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:10)

Egyptian Moses

- The Massacre or Slaughter of the Innocents was modeled after Pharaoh’s killing of Israelite babies.
- Moses was told to go back to Egypt; for all those who were seeking his life were dead.
- An angel told Joseph, "Get up, take the child and his mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who were seeking the child’s life are dead."
- Moses saved the Jews from slavery in Egypt, and Jesus saved the world from sin.

Now the Lord had said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt, for all those who wanted to kill you are dead.” (Exodus 4:19)

Beast

- The biggest difference between Moses and Jesus is that Jesus came to save the world, and Moses Law (10 commandments) are the mark of the beast.
- Jesus came to this world to save us from the mark of the beast.
- If you're not under grace, which is Christ, and you worship YHWH and his commandments, you're under the wrath.
- Who convinced all the nations to drink of the wine of the wrath, well, the answer is the Pope, the Catholic Church, and the Christians.
- It was not the pagans, Gnostics, or any other non-Christian religion.

Mark of the beast

-This is because they gave the world the Mass and threatened everyone who did wrong against their deity YHWH, or broke the Old Covenant by sinning, that they're going to hell.
- This is the wrath of YHWH, making a Covenant.
- Every Christian (whatever religion) who believe they need works to be saved, is partaking not in Christ, but in the wrath of her fornication, YHWH.
- Babylon is the world, and the mother of harlots who rules over Babylon is Jerusalem.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. (Revelations 18)

Wrath of deity

- Why would it be the ones who worship YHWH that he kills?
- Because unless you partake of the Covenant of YHWH, which is the deception, that says that you are not an immortal being and that you are cursed, you'll receive his wrath.
- Anyone who is under YHWHs law (commandments), is under death and his wrath is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation.
- Don't confuse this with Jesus, because he's not coming with indignation.

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. (Revelations 14:10)

Masked

- Why are the angels and Lambs called out, because they are no part of this world.
- Jesus warned everyone before he left Earth that he would return and he warned us not to listen to the Antichrist, the Beast, the false prophet because you will be deceived and perish.
- Not because of the Most High's wrath, but because you did not receive the love of the truth that you might be saved so therefore you'll get the strong delusion.

Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. (Matthew 24:11)

Jesus cross

- Jesus came to Earth to give us the New Covenant which is his two commandments to replace Moses Law (10 commandments).
- They are called the commandments of Jesus for us to follow faithfully, and that is to love him and love yourself and everyone else.
- Jesus died on the cross for our sins so we wouldn't have to suffer through YHWHs laws, we're sinless.
- What is so hard to understand that Jesus died for your sins so that YHWH can't accuse you of them with his skewed commandments (over 600 of them, most are hidden from you).

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth: yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them. (Revelation 14:13)

Jesus blessed

- So why does the Lord say blessed are those from henceforth?
- Because those who endure until the end remain until Jesus returns, they don't die.
- And we won't precede those who have fallen asleep in death because we follow the Lamb whereever he goes.
- We have the song of victory, a beautiful song, we're coming for victory.

These are they that were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are they that follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. (Revelation 14:4)

Light as a feather

- Who are those that are dying?
- They didn't receive the mark of the beast, and they were beheaded (they waited to receive Christ's grace after tribulation already began).
- So what's the difference between the 144,000 who also didn't receive the mark of the beast?
- They were the ones who endured unto Jesus returned and they have the Seal of the Living Deity on their forehead (they believed in Christ before the tribulation began).

Only when the evil one and those who slavishly follow the lies he promises, are destroyed, finally can the world become calm. (Seal of the Living God)

Foolish unlit lamp

- There were 5 foolish virgins who didn't have any oil in their lamps.
- They listened to Moses instead and didn't confess Jesus' name during the tribulation, they wavered.
- Well, they do end up with white robes at the end, but they have to suffer through the tribulation and wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb.
- They were the salt of the Earth that lost its' savor and was trampled underfoot by men; they were the light of the world but they didn't shine brightly because they didn't confess their name.

Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, 'Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?' I said to him, 'Sir, you know.' And he said to me, 'These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.'" (Revelation 7:13-14)

Cup of water

- They lost their reward because they had a cup of water to give to the little one, who is the Christ in them, and they didn't give the water to the Christ child.
- But whoever gives a cup of water to the little one will not lose their reward.
- So some will be beaten with a few stripes and others will be rewarded 10-fold in this world, and 100-fold in the world to come.

Grapevine

- An angel came out of the temple, which is heaven, with a sharp sickle.
- Another angel came out of the altar, which had power over fire, and shouted to the angel with the sickle to gather the cluster of the vines of the Earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.
- The angel with the sickle cast it into the winepress of the wrath of Deity, and the winepress was trodden, and blood came out of the winepress in a space of 1,600 furlongs, which is 200 miles.
- 200 miles from Jerusalem there is literally no place for that to happen because that would be in the middle of the gulf.

Cloud

- Many think this refers to Armageddon or Jehoshaphat except the valley, gorge or river that the battle takes place in is only 20 miles from Jerusalem, not 200.
- Even more interesting, this is done by the Lord, on a white cloud, one like unto the son of man, having on his head a gold crown and in his hand a sharp sickle.
- That is because there will be sins to pay for those who didn't confess during the tribulation.

White horse or pale horse

- There is a white horse that has a bow and a toxic arrow and following him famine and death and pestilence.
- But this wasn't Jesus on the white horse, it just looks like him, except it's the Antichrist.
- At the end of Revelations we see another white horse and the armies of the Lord follow him and he's got a sword out of his mouth.
- This is the sword of the spirit or the scriptures, the truth, the sword of truth comes out of his mouth because he's speaking the truth and that's destroying the darkness.

Grape harvest

- We know this because the first horseman has material weapons, toxic arrows, famine, death and Hades.
- While the second horseman has a sickle, not a weapon for war but for agriculture and harvesting.
- This is Christ coming to save us, not to destroy us, doesn't have to be.
- Harvest is the end of the world and Jesus said he would reap the harvest and he would be taking and cutting the righteous and bringing them into the barn.
- As well as a cutting of the weeds and the chaff and piling them and then burning them, and that is why the angel had power over the fire.

Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, “Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matthew 13:30)

Wrath

- If we weren't under YHWHs wrath, there would be no judgment.
- However, you're not under YHWHs wrath if you receive the grace of Jesus Christ.
- Separating the wheat from the chaff is the work of Christ.

YHWH judgment

- Those who have not the love of Christ, and have not taken the Covenant of Christ, or have not confessed his name, guarantees that the angels didn't confess your name to the Father.
- Which means Christ doesn't know you because you partook of the wrath and drank the wine of the Covenant of YHWH.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:21-23)

Salt shaker

- If you're under YHWHs Covenant, then you're under his wrath and judgment, these are the consequences.
- Christ is the only way to join with the angel of the Lord with a sickle, go into the barn, and into the wilderness where there's a table with a feast prepared for us.
- This is not referring to the wicked but to the reaping of the righteous and then a separating the good from the bad, the sheep from the goats.
- The angels are the reapers; it's a symbolic harvest and the sickles are sharp and it sounds like a terrible thing, we're all going to 'die' but this is Christ bringing us into the barn.

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. (Matthew 25:31-46)

- At the same time, another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, also having a sharp sickle, and then another angel came out from the altar which had the power over fire.
- The fire is coming from the altar which makes you wonder what kind of fire is on the altar, it's a purifying fire, the Mercy Seat which is for atonement.

The crucifixion of Jesus is portrayed as fulfilling the commandments concerning the Day of Atonement. By means of the crucifixion of Jesus, God has provided the “mercy seat” once and for all, and opened it to all. One can trust (have faith) that atonement has been made. (enterthebible.org)

Cleansing fire

- The fire is actually for their good and that's why it's coming from heaven because it is the fleshly nature that is being reaped and the spiritual nature that is being taken into the barn.
- Everyone has both the good and evil within them, everyone has the fleshly and the spiritual.

Precious things

- The harvest of the world is going to be an awakening and the darkness and the demons and material things will be burned up.
- But that which are precious things, silver and gold, will be preserved.
- How this all takes place you can already see the Awakening and people are beginning to realize they've been lied to and they can't trust the government, and that love and integrity are vital.

Sharp sickle

- Most of them probably won't take the mark of the beast and therefore they'll be beheaded but happy are those from this time forward because they go straight to heaven (those who didn't accept his grace before the tribulation but after).
- Then there are others that follow the Lamb whereever he goes and those who follow him whereever he goes he makes his disciples.
- Jesus said to take up your cross and follow him and he will make you his disciple.

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? (Matthew 16:24-26)

Guile in mouth

- Jesus is coming a second time, this time for victory and we've already taken up our cross and followed him and now they sing the song of the Lamb which is victory.
- They sang as if it were a new song before the throne and the Beast and the 72 elders.

Beast torn

- The 144,000 are redeemed from the Earth and they're the ones that sing the song of victory which is a new song before the four Beasts and the throne.
- Constants and Enumerations (upside down) where  7 X 70  is XLabove or XLbelow.
- Loop.
- Numbers on someone's spreadsheet.
- We are all rendered into code and are made up of every mineral in the universe.

Redeemed

- It's the song about how they are not defiled by women, they are virgins these are those who follow the Lamb whereever he goes.
- They were redeemed from among men and being the first fruits to the deity and to the Lamb in their mouth was found no guile they are without fault.
- There was another sign in heaven that was quite marvelous, 7 angels having 7 last plagues for in them is filled up the wrath of deity.

And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. (Revelation 14:5)

Sea of glass

- It was seen as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire; and those that had won the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number on his name, stand on the sea of glass having the harps of Almighty God (144,000).
- They sing the song of Moses, the servant of deity, and they sing the song of the Lamb saying great and marvelous are thy works Lord God Almighty, just and true are thy ways thou King of Saints.

Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed. (Revelation 15:1-4)

Victory

- The song of Moses, the song of the Lamb is the song of victory, songs of joy.
- The strong right arm of the Lord has done glorious things and is raised in triumph.
- When Israel came up out of Egypt, there were 12,000 standing in each of the 12 tribes; 144,000.
- They stood in a circle with banners and behind them was the great mixed multitude that came up out of Egypt.

The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done. (Psalm 118:14-17)

Win the battle

- So the 144,000 fight the battle and they win and there are a number of individuals that are delivered because of these; the first born of Israel who are the generals in the army and come out on horses with Christ and do the battle.
- We might see multitudes of individuals that are saved from the preaching of the annointed.
- Gathering in the wilderness on Mount Zion where all nations will gather and judgments will be made manifest so they are just and true.
- Because everyone who did not deserve those judgments, were those who had love; it had nothing to do with breaking any of YHWHs commandments.

But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. (Obadiah 1:17)

Gold sashes

- It had to do whether you chose the love of the truth that you might be saved from these vile commandments and judgments.
- Or whether you wanted to stick to your old ways and hate your enemies and therefore the consequences of that is you will be judged as you judge others.
- So it is a righteous judgment, and they are judging themselves.
- And afterwards the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.

And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles. (Revelation 15:6)

Sold their soul

- It is the consequence of those who chose to sell their soul for this moment in time, they wanted power and money and they rejected the grace of the Lord.
- So the justice that is happening is absolutely pure and holy and this must take place.

Forgive your neighbor

- The best judgment you can have, because everybody makes mistakes, is to simply say you forgive your neighbor and love everyone and do your best and not judge others, then you won't be judged.
- As long as you just love and be good and accept the truth and his kingdom, you can go totally free.
- No one earns it, because it's simply a free gift.

Smokey chains

- The 7 angels who are coming out with the plagues are coming after those who have the mark of the beast, those who chose the wrath, YHWHs law, the 10 commandments.
- And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the 7 plagues come down.
- Just like when the Israelites were delivered out of Egypt when the plagues were going on.
- So we are going to be delivered into the wilderness and a table is going to be prepared for us, not one hair on our head will be harmed because this time we have come for victory.

But there shall not an hair of your head perish. (Luke 21:18)

Storm

- There is so much going on in the world right now and many wonder why Jesus would destroy anyone because he's all about love.
- Jesus is patient and we're all going through this classroom, however a classroom has discipline and that's what this is.
- All that is burned on the altar are the physical, material things, the dross, and through that sacrifice there is a setting free or purification and making holy.

But the one who endures to the end will be saved. (Matthew 24:13)

Shaken

- Our Lord Jesus is all about making holy and everybody is going to be alive here and if we hold onto the darkness within ourselves, which is very profound, it will do us harm.
- Which will be the destruction of the flesh so as to allow the spirit to be saved in the day of the Lord.

Lingering

- You can't save anyone if you let them linger in this pig pen we currently live in, you've got to bring them out and shake them up.
- So what is about to be shaken is all the material things in the world and those who are hanging on to those material things will receive loss because they'll lose all these precious things they love so much.

Fire burns up the material world

- In the end they'll be redeemed because of it, they'll have to awaken, but because we've been warned about this, that means that some of us who have willingly given up these material things won't suffer as much pain.
- Each in his own rank, we're all going to be redeemed and we're all going to be saved.
- The gospel is for all who know, especially for those who believe.

Beasts and monsters

- But for those who don't believe, it's going to be painful, there will be some suffering, but the only suffering the Lord gives is to help us reform and wake up.
- It's discipline because he disciplines those he loves.
- All the ugly monsters have got to die, the Beast, the false prophet and the dragon have all got to go.
- Anyone who worships them and is hanging onto that darkness will receive some suffering, but the Lord doesn't let them suffer anything beyond what they can bear.

He touched my lips with the burning coal and said, “This has touched your lips, and now your guilt is gone, and your sins are forgiven. (Isaiah 6:7-8)

Coals

- Ultimately, all suffering is for reformation and restoration and there is a plan that the heavenly Father is following and when you read Revelation you see that an angel comes out and touched lips and Isaiah is purged.
- This is symbolic, the coals of the altar are the burning of suffering that we go through on that altar of life where we burn up that wickedness in the flesh and the dross and we're made new.
- Everything will be made new, and the Lord Jesus loves everyone and he's not going to lose a one of them, except the son of destruction (perdition).

Let no man deceive you by any means, for that Day shall not come, unless there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. (2 Thessalonians 2:3)

Bondage to this world

- The son of perdition is the child that represents the carnal nature and that's all that's going to be lost, but without that, there can be no peace for our higher nature.
- So we must die to the flesh in order that we might live to the spirit.
- The wise thing for anyone who has received this knowledge and learned these lessons can make it easier on themselves by willingly seeking the Lord and fasting, praying, and not being in bondage to this world.

Love one another

- There will be suffering but the Lord Jesus is not the one giving the suffering, he's simply going to be taking away all the things that gives you such pleasure, but will cause you great grief, and in the end will save your soul.
- The Lord loves us all so learn to love one another and seek the Lord and he'll get you through this, and no matter how we get through it, we all will be safe and have eternal life.
- So how you make it through with the least amount of suffering is willingly trusting and having faith in him, and being a wise servant patiently waiting for him to arrive and by having oil in our lamps.

Revelation 22:16 –In some of Jesus’ last words in the Bible, He likens Himself to the planet Venus, the bright morning star that is often visible on the Eastern horizon before sunrise. The dawn of the kingdom of God is coming, and Jesus’ first coming was the “morning star” that preceded it, letting the world know kingdom is about to be consummated. Magi or king

- Church traditions have given us the three Magi the names Melchior, Caspar, and Balthasar.
- Those names are not found in scripture but were first penned in a mosaic in a 6th-century church in Ravenna, Italy.
- Currently, their supposed skulls reside in the great cathedral at Cologne, Germany.

King of kings

- This is all testimony to the greatness of Jesus of Nazareth, even as a young child.
- Before he was born, prophets knew about his birth and many came from afar with elaborate presents, as well as enemies trying to eliminate him.

The word epiphany means an appearance or manifestation, particularly of a divine being—or an illuminating discovery, especially one that comes unexpectedly. (sermonwriter.com)

Epiphany

- Feast of the Epiphany is observed as a church festival in commemoration of the coming of the Magi as the first manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles.
- In the Eastern Church it is the commemoration of the baptism of Christ.
- Eastern churches that followed the Julian rather than the Gregorian calendar, celebrated Epiphany (or Theophany) in conjunction with Christ's baptism by John the Baptist.

Epiphany challenges us to reconsider all the people whom we see as outside the pale—outside the boundaries of God’s love. It challenges us to abandon our tribalism (racially, nationally, denominationally, etc.) and to expand our tents to welcome even those whom we would prefer not to love. It is a burning issue, because loving those outside our tribe is difficult—but Christ makes it possible. That is the Epiphany message. (sermonwriter.com)

Epiphany season

- Originally it was celebrated on January 19, however, other Eastern churches have adopted the Western Calendar and celebrate it on January 6.
- Some Protestant churches celebrate it as a season that begins on Christmas and ends on Ash Wednesday or the Feast of the Presentation on February 2.
- Christmas day came later.

For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. (Ephesians 2:14)

Moral of the story!

- The shepherds found their way to Bethlehem before anyone.

- The wise men were very passionate about the Christ child and traveled for months looking for him, they wasted time in Jerusalem when they thought the Jews cared about the Messiah.

- The Jewish priests and scribes could care less about Jesus birth and more about looking good in their religion.

Astrology and Horoscopes

Head in the clouds

- Astrology and horoscopes are popular today and were in ancient times as well.
- The fact that Apostle Matthew treats the magi (magoi), who were Gentiles, kindly does not mean that astrology or horoscopes are legitimate as a replacement for the Most High.
- The word magoi is also found in the Book of Acts, where it is translated magician or sorcerer.
- They were considered far from the kingdom of God, which was used by Apostle Matthew, who wrote a very Jewish gospel, to show how the Messiah brings salvation to Gentiles, and even to magicians and sorcerers.

Isaiah 40:25-26 Amidst God’s comparison of Himself to deaf and dumb idols, He points not only to the futility of idol worship, but He tells Israel to look up at the stars and consider who created them. God alone should be worshipped because He alone is the great Creator of all they see. (journeyhomeschoolacademy.com)

Alternate religious system

- The Jews and Christians believed that astrology constituted an alternate religious system which is incompatible with their faith, because it ascribes too much significance to the movement of stars.
- But logically, the Jews were worshipping YHWH who sure didn't want them talking to psychics of any kind.

We think of these magoi as astrologers because they are observing stars, and astrology was considered a learned occupation. However, from the perspective of the Jewish people, magoi look to the stars for answers that legitimately come only from God. (sermonwriter.com)

White hat goes after Black hat

- So because of that view, everyone in the Western world now believes that paying attention to the stars is somehow evil.
- However, there are many religions and philosophies around the world that don't share that view.
- The Bible itself is a collection of occult works about astronomy and metaphysics, not religion.
- What is true is that the Most High is in control, not stars, and his primary means of revelation are believers, seers, prophets, scriptures; however he does tell us to keep our eyes on them.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:25-26)

Christ Child and 14 points of light

- Some believe that by the Most High guiding the Magi with stars was a one time supernatural event.
- But that is not true because the stars control our lives on Earth as we all pass through all signs of the zodiac in our many reincarnations.
- Plus, Christ is represented by the constellation Ophiuchius, who does not have a counterpart or opposite sign, hence, no polarity.

Job 9:1-12 talks about how God is beyond understanding because of his great power. Among other things, he mentions three of God’s constellations: Orion, the Pleiades, and Ursa Major. (journeyhomeschoolacademy.com)

Many houses

- The following verse is the very representation of the importance of stars in our life, because what it is talking about are the 12-14 astrological houses that we pass through when we circle the sun on the planets
- So how so many claim this is all evil witchery to even consider the Bible as anything to do with the supernatural or spirituality is baffling since it is all there in front of them in words.

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” (John 14:2-4)

Know the way

- What the words are telling you is we go around in a circle so Almighty God will always be waiting (in the same spot at the beginning of the cycle) as you loop through the astrological wheel (months and years).
- From the top of the wheel to the bottom, we go around and around.
- There's no way to get lost like the Apostles were worried about, and there's no way not to go through him, because he's waiting at the top of the wheel every new cycle we pass through.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:5-6)

The wheel

- On top of that, the Bible itself is filled with magical or spiritual happenings like walking on water and dream interpretation, to name just a few.
- The ancient Jewish mystics used the stars more than anyone.
- And afterall, Jesus was the White Star.

.

White star

- Vel-meen and Velli both mean Venus in Tamil.
- White star = intermediate space + fish or vel(i) + fish.
- Proposed Ancient Indus Script Dictionary (harappa.com).

Leviticus 23 is a catalogue of Israel’s special celebrations and gatherings. The entire Hebrew calendar is “lunisolar”: the moon phases determine when months begin and end and years are calculated based on the rhythms of planting and harvesting. Knowing these sky rhythms helps us to understand the rhythms of the Hebrew calendar. (journeyhomeschoolacademy.com)

Star walker

- There are so many points even in the Magi story that show that the spiritual world and the stars were very important aspects in daily life.
- We are shown that the Holy Spirit and angels talked directly to prophet Simeon in his dreams, that is very real and each and every person has the capability to do that.
- Have you ever heard voices? You're not crazy, you just need to listen to them and discern.
- How many have warned you not to listen to spirits, but who do they think the Holy Spirit is?

Amos 5:1-17 In this poem foretelling the destruction of Israel, God’s chief demonstrations of His power, proving to Israel that He is able to bring about this calamity, are (1) His ability to make the rain to fall where He wants, (2) His ability to make the sun rise and set, and (3) the creation of the constellations the Pleiades and Orion. (journeyhomeschoolacademy.com)

Pisces fish

- Angels also talked to Joseph and gave him forewarnings.
- Additionally, the Bethlehem star was as important marker in Christ's birth that led many to him.
- The most ludicrous thing is the Christian fish symbol, ichthys, stands for the astrological sign Pisces, the fish, which was Jesus on Earth.
- None of the naysayers seem to know that but they all drive around with it on their car bumper.

The Greek word for fish is "ichthys." As early as the first century, Christians made an acrostic from this word: Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter, i.e. Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior. (christianitytoday.com)

Lock you up

- What is the most disturbing is that so many 'religious' people believe that all this talking to spirits and following stars is not only crazy, but somehow evil.
- Then they claim it only happened one time (in this story) and God wouldn't ever do that again (except everyone's talking to angels, just ignore that).

Isaiah 38:1-8 God does a miracle to prove to King Hezekiah that He will heal him of his sickness and save the city from destruction: God would make the shadow on the royal sundial go backwards. (journeyhomeschoolacademy.com)

Have you taken your 'meds' today?

- They were taught this by the powers that run everything because they sure don't want any of you finding this out.
- Because then you'll figure out what they're up to, so they tell you that you need to drug yourself up (and they'll provide the drugs) and you're crazy.
- Or it's all a 'conspiracy' theory and you're stupid!

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. (Hosea 4:6)

Greek gods or Earth elements

- But we see just in the story of the Magi, how the spirtual side is very real and we're all connected to it and in no way is connecting with it evil.
- One place we have to be careful, just as with the Greek gods or Earth elements, never to 'worship' them as something more substantial, powerful or meaningful than the Most High, because there is nothing higher than Source.

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. (Romans 1:19-20)

Sneakers

- There are other things you must learn to keep yourself safe, including knowing that being ignorant of everything going on around you and in the spirit world will somehow keep you safe, it won't.
- Also to stay away from the black magic.
- Never use astrology to ask spirit to predict the future because nothing is ever set in stone and can change, use it instead to discover your own behavioral traits.
- Never 'predict' anything.
- Use Tarot to discover what spirit is moving around you, and how it is affecting you and what you can do to heal and move away from bad influences that want to harm you, negativity.
- You also must 'test the spirits' because not all of them are good; ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern.
- Jesus knew this, that's why he warned us; he never said not to talk to them or listen to them, he just said 'test them' first.
- Also knowing that everything in the lower ego, including astrology, will be removed when Jesus returns.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God. (1 John 4:1-2)

Flock of birds

- You should also know that every astrological sign has specific psychic abilities that come built in.
- All of us have some of these powers, and most of us have all these powers and they are not evil.
- Plus the hypocrisy of those who consider these 'skills' as evil when they are God given (and they haven't bothered to refine their own psychic abilities because we all have them).
- As we rise and ascend, telepathic communication is the norm.
- Kingdom spouses also communicate telepathically when they ascend.

Psychic abilities by astrological sign

Aries Pyrokinesis - ability to start and control fire with the mind
Taurus Telekinesis - move objects with the mind

Silver lining

- Waiting for the Lord with faith in your heart, and with thanksgiving in your heart and appreciation.
- Because you have love for your brothers and sisters, let them know, warn them, love them and try and snatch them out of the fire.
- We're going to have to be patient with them, whether they're family or friends, or people we don't even know, but doing everything we can to show them the importance of the time we're living through.

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, And night unto night sheweth knowledge. (Psalm 19:1-6)

Fantasy

Over

- Everything in the matrix tried to align you with the mental intellect because they knew the power of the mind to distort emotions.
- The matrix was designed to have you move away from your soul's wisdom, your soul's truth, your emotional intelligence, and your heart's desires by talking yourself out of it with your own mind.

- Libra brings heart and mind into balance and coherence and we all have all the astrological signs and elements, whether they're pronounced in your chart or not.
- You have to balance yourself spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally.
- When you get all four to balance, the material world must naturally come into balance as well.
