DAVINCI - LEDA and the SWAN - PAGE 6

Bernese Alps

- There are 9 four-thousand-meter peaks in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland.
- The Wengernalp is an alpine meadow at an elevation of 1874 meters, above Wengen, a mountain village, in the Bernese Oberland.
- It's popular for its views over the 'giants' of the Bernese Alps and directly faces the huge northern walls of the Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger.

Wing is wengen and monk is mönch in jungfrau the virgin

- In the English language, 'wenger/wengen' translates to wing.
- Wing means one’s ability to fly, hence one’s own powers.
- Eiger (ogre), Mönch (monk) and Jungfrau (virgin) who reside in divine order as mountains.

In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. (Micah 4:1)

Eiger and pastures above Wengen, a mountain village

- There are three different interpretations of the name Eiger.
- First, that it comes from the Old High German name of Egiger or Agiger and because of this, he named the meadow above his pastures 'Aigers Gissberg.'
- Second, - Eiger in Latin translates to acer; sharp and pointed.
- Third, was also based on the pointed appearance and the common spelling 'Heiger.'

The formerly common spelling "Heiger" may have developed from the dialect expression "dr hej Ger" ("hej" means "high" and "Ger" was a Germanic throwing spear). (jungfrauregion.swiss)

Wengernalp Giants

Giant ogres

- Once upon a time, a family of terrible giant ogres, known for miles around for their bad tempers and violence, lived in the Wengernalp meadow.
- The giants were especially mean and had a reputation for beating up all the little people who lived in the meadow and stealing from them.

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. (Genesis 6:4)

Ogre

Angry ogre wing

- An ogre is a man-eating giant and comes from the interpretation of Eiger.
- Shrek with his donkey, although unlike Shrek, Eiger has a formidable reputation.

The north face of the Eiger makes sure of this in an impressive way. (jungfrauregion.swiss)

Leda hip

- Skeleton dance.
- The hip bone is connected to the back bone....
- Their broken down eagle has landed (in a trench in the ocean).

Old man asking giant for milk

- One day, a poor old man with threadbare clothes came along and asked for a sip of milk from the giants.
- He was weak from hunger and thirsty; and knew the milk would refresh him because he still had a long journey ahead of him.

...and because of the abundance of the milk produced he will eat curds, for everyone that is left within the land will eat curds and honey. (Isaiah 7:22)

Giant's bota bag of milk

- The giants refused to give the old man any milk because they felt that he hadn’t earned anything more than water.
- In truth, they just wanted to bully him and they were stingy and not very charitable.
- They were narcissists and loved playing games with others' emotions.

Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou [art] a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way. (Exodus 33:3)

Giant bully

- The little old man offended the giant when he called him a stingy brute.
- As a result, the giant wanted to beat the old man up and looked down on him with his fists ready.
- The giant was so angry, he turned bright blue after all his blood rushed to his head.

Men at some time are masters of their fates. The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings. (Shakespeare, Julius Caesar)

Average looking dwarf spirit

- The giant considered the old man to be a dwarf spirit and certainly was not afraid of him.
- The giant’s were bullies and they were not scared of dwarfs who were plentiful in the meadow.
- Because of this, the dwarfs always stayed far away from the giants, except for this gnarly old man, this was a rare meeting.

What a terrible era in which idiots govern the blind. (Shakespeare, Julius Caesar)

Troll gets so mad at the giants he turns red

- Unknown to the giants, the little old man was not a dwarf spirit, but a mountain spirit, a troll, and therefore was much stronger than the dwarfs.
- Unfortunately for the giants, the trolls were much stronger than the giants too.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)

Frightened giant trying to hide
Et tu, Brute?

- The giants were suddenly frightened and started trembling and shaking and hiding behind things.
- They knew that the trolls had more power and strength than them so for that reason, they usually went out of their way to stay away from them.
- The giants were resting on their bully laurels and never in all the years they lived in the meadow, ever envisioned a mountain spirit marching directly into their camp.

Beware the ides of March. (Shakespeare, Julius Caesar)

Frank fear

- The giants knew the troll could very easily put a curse on them if the giants performed a bad deed, and that would cause them misery in their lives.
- They were thinking about how mean and stingy they had been to the old troll and they were really frightened.

Our doubts are traitors, And make us lose the good we oft might win, By fearing to attempt. (Shakespeare)

Chiron

- The wheel of fortune was turning.
- Chiron represents childhood wounds and it also represents your greatest potential.
- Originally called an asteroid when it was first discovered in 1977, Chiron is now classified as a minor planet and a comet.

It was named after the centaur Chiron in Greek mythology, who was not like other centaurs in the sense that Chiron is said to have been more educated and wiser than his fellow centaurs. This, along with the fact that, while other centaurs possessed the upper body of a human and a horse's lower body, Chiron's front legs were human. (popsugar.co.uk)

Wounded healer

- Actions taken now affect the future (and also effect your future family members).
- In astrology, Chiron is known as the "wounded healer," in tribute to his history as a teacher, and his knowledge of medicine.
- Chiron lost his ability to heal himself after being struck with a poisonous arrow; an event that resulted in a long period of pain and, eventually, in his tragic, albeit noble, death.

Similar to a Saturn return or other planetary returns, individuals also experience a Chiron return, when the comet finishes a revolution through the zodiac signs and returns to the sign it was in when you were born.

A full Chiron revolution takes around 50 years — right around the time of the proverbial "mid-life crisis" — bringing about a "spiritual rebirth" that can be even more challenging than a Saturn return. (popsugar.co.uk)

Smoke from the curse

- Because he was especially angered by the giants cruelty to him, the mountain troll put a curse on the giants.
- In a flash, the giants began to grow.
- They grew bigger and bigger and were very cold and blustery and turned into solid rock and ice.
- That’s how the father became the Eiger, the sons became the Weisse and Schwarze Mönch (white and black monks) and the daughter became the Jungfrau (virgin).

My grace is all you need, for my power is the greatest when you are weak. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Monks frozen in mountains

- After the deed was done, the troll was able to not only get the sip of milk he desired, but he drank a whole glass, and also ate a cookie with it before he went on his merry way.
- The family froze to death but thankfully they are still very much alive in a more peaceful manner.

The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones. (Shakespeare, Julius Caesar)

Typical day in the the Alps now

For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12)

Moral of the story!

This is the same old story, don't judge a book by its cover.

The dead bury their dead, the living don't.

One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth. (Proverbs 13:7)

DaVinci
Leda and the Swan - Page 7

...we might say that the earth has a spirit of growth;
that its flesh is the soil, its bones
the arrangement and connection of the rocks
of which the mountains are composed,
its cartilage the tufa, and its blood the springs of water.

Leonardo DaVinci
