LEONARDO DAVINCI

- Full name = Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci

- Vinci was the name of the town he was born in and means 'to win by defeating or vanquishing.'

- Leonardo backwards = odr an oel (anointing oil)

- Had two birthdays (because of changes to the calendar), April 15, 1452 (Aries) or April 23, 1452 (Taurus), a total of 8 days (a week).

- Some say he was born on April 14, 1452, so the question remains, is he 453 or 463 or 453 = 1369?

A work of art in itself

- His mother was Caterina di Meo Lippi and she was a Circassian slave from the North Caucasus region that today is part of southern Russia, near the coast of the Black Sea.

But to the narrative:—The vessel bound With slaves to sell off in the capital, After the usual process, might be found At anchor under the seraglio wall; Her cargo, from the plague being safe and sound, Were landed in the market, one and all, And there with Georgians, Russians, and Circassians, Bought up for different purposes and passions.

Some went off dearly; fifteen hundred dollars For one Circassian, a sweet girl, were given, Warranted virgin; beauty's brightest colours Had deck'd her out in all the hues of heaven: Her sale sent home some disappointed bawlers, Who bade on till the hundreds reach'd eleven; But when the offer went beyond, they knew 'T was for the Sultan, and at once withdrew. (Don Juan - Lord Byron writing about the slave market in Istanbul, Turkey)

- DaVinci had an eye stigma that caused double vision, he could look at two things at one time which helped him as an artist because he could see what he was painting, and his drawing hand at the same time!

- He died at age 67 on May 2, 1519 (527) in Clos Lucé, Amboise, Kingdom of France, however, no one knows where he is? Possibly in a church in Amboise. It's a mystery.

- Chinese zodiac sign for 1452 is Black Water Monkey.

For each of us, the death of this man is a bereavement, since it is impossible that we will ever see his like again. (Francis I)
